Looking For A More Personal Alternative To An American Girl Doll For Your Daughter This Christmas?

My daughter is almost 6 and is just getting extremely interested in the American Girl Dolls. I have hesitated in spending the money for one, as it tends to be quite an investment (if you know what I mean). Plus, I am not certain that she will take care of it like she should, with a doll that is worth as much $$ as they cost. Now, I am guessing that, if she had a doll that looked just like her, one that was her little "twin", the chances of it actually being taken care of right (because I think she would treat it like she would want to be treated) would greatly improve.
As Christmas is approaching, I came across a company that could very well be a HUGE competitor to the American Girl Dolls this holiday shopping season!
Have a look and tell me what you think:http://www.mytwinn.com/

My Twinn offers 23 inch dolls that are made to look "just like" your child (ages 3-12). Not only do you get to pick the hair color, the style, the eye color, etc., but you can send in a picture of your child to them and the product is a doll that is truly their "twinn". Awesome, right? When my almost six year old saw these dolls, she was so beyond excited. It seemed that this could be something she really would like more and take better care of than the American Girl Doll that all her friends have. Why? Well, it would look just like her, and she could dress it just like her too. Yes, My Twinn also offers matching outfits for your little girl & her doll. Hmmm...her request to Santa might be a little different than I thought it was going to be! LOL!
Do you think your little girl would like a "My Twinn" doll? Do you think that this would be the type of doll that would be something they could pass onto their kids too. If they take care of it, like they would want to be taken care of, it just might. And how cool that they can give their kids a doll of what they looked like when they were little. I just think that's an awesome "family heirloom" idea.
Because I am so excited about this company and feel that you should really take a look at their dolls and products in more detail, I get to offer (1) MY TWINN Custom Doll to (1) Lucky Reader.

My two youngest girls do not have American Girl dolls but they have asked for one. I just can not see spending that much money on a doll. Especially since I have seen what they have done to some of their other toys! I am considering getting them both My Generation dolls from Target. That way if they get ruined, I won't be quite as upset.

I myself have a Life of Faith doll, which is about the same cost as an American girl doll. I won her from a giveaway several years ago. She is up on display away from sticky hands!
