It's a CREATE YOUR OWN FLAVOR OF SODA Frenzy At Our House...Thanks To The SodaStream

I'll admit it...I am a sucker for a diet soda during the day. Without that and my morning cup(s) of coffee...I would probably be an even bigger bear than my husband typically thinks I am! LOL! Dread the thought! But I have noticed, since we started recycling, how many plastic bottles we go through...2 liter after 2 liter after 2 liter. It's insane! I think, even though it's going to a recycling center...it's still an awful lot of waste.

Did you know that it only costs about $.57 per liter to make a soda? Yeah...when you think about how much money you spend on purchasing pre-made sodas, that sometimes go flat before you drink the whole 2 liter...doesn't it make you feel a little wasteful with your $$ and all the packaging involved in every one? It does to me! VERY WASTEFUL!

So...I found exactly what the banker ( you know...like doctor, LOL) ordered for our family's budget when it comes to soda making in our house. The Soda Stream Company offers 4 different soda machines, that help you create what ever flavor "tickles your fancy" at the moment you desire. These machines come with (2) 1 liter bottles for you to create and save your soda. Having a family of 6...this is the perfect size for us to use during a lunch or dinner. And since we use it all (almost everytime we fill up a 1 liter bottle), we don't have to worry about it loosing carbonation. Plus, the machine is slim, so it doesn't take up a lot of counter space in our kitchen...which is nice!

Our family got the amazing opportunity to review the Pure Starter Kit. This kit includes the Carbonation Machine (Stainless Steel & Slim Design), the carbonation cylinder, (2) empty 1 liter plastic (reusable) bottles and they also included several different types of soda mixes for us to try. AWESOME! I was thrilled when it arrived (free of charge) for us to try out.

Ours kids were just as excited about it as I was, so I had them help me with the first bottle. We decided to make some of the "Diet Cola" flavored soda. Here's some VLOG of our experience with the SodaStream products:




If you can't tell, from the video, my kids loved the soda. They couldn't tell the difference between it and what we normally drink out of a bottle or can. I will admit, our kids drink very little soda, so it was a treat that they got to try some out...so they may not be the best judge of flavor. I thought that it tasted like any generic diet soda. Not bad at all! It wasn't COKE or Pepsi brand...so it didn't taste exactly like it...but here's the cool thing...it didn't cost the COKE or Pepsi price and it didn't waste a bunch of plastic bottles so our family could partake. I like that a lot. And you know what...it tasted great, even better because I knew the cost & benefits involved! I also made some water with the "My Water Flavoring" Berry Flavor and it was like the seltzer water I buy at the store. YUMMY! Even better, I could have as little or as much as I wanted...because I was making it myself! LOL! I love that! One of my favorite things to drink recently is Pellegrino water, which I can now make at home myself, for a lot less $$. LOVE IT!
