FYI To My READERS...

It's offical...my computer "ol' Bessie", her hard drive officially bit the dust. The Geek Squad could not repair the problems with her hardrive and unfortunately, this means that we have to computer shop and purchase a new computer. I have been blogging from my husband's work laptop at night when he gets home...but I can't upload my amazing pictures from my fabulous product reviews, etc. on my husband's work laptop. My fingers are crossed that the new PC will be purchased soon...so I can get busy and back to blogging HARDCORE...but I wanted to give you the heads up if it seems to slow down here for a few days.

I'm SO SORRY! I really felt like this blogspot had picked up some amazing momentum in the past couple weeks...don't you agree?

Please don't stop watching the One Bored Mommy Blogspot...I will be back and better than ever (I will, cause the computer will actually work right when I blog), which means I will be able to be much more productive when I am blogging. More productive in posting blogs and more productive in gaining the attention this blog needs to succeed as one of the Best Mommy Blogs there is.

Thank you to my loyal readers and welcome to the new ones. I promise...this delay won't be long or permanent. Thanks for hanging in there with you. You have no idea how bad the withdrawls are! LOL!

Congrats Winner...

Silikids "Silipads"~ Product Review ~

We are still adjusting to having hardwood floors in our home. We have always had carpet when our little ones were learning how to crawl. Now that we have moved and only have hardwood and Mason is starting the crawling stage, I feel so bad for his little knees. It has to hurt to be on them all day long with nothing to protect them. As the summer time is approaching, and shorts weather is not far off, I know they are really going to take a beating.

http://www.silikids.com/

Silikids make a product that just might change things for us...the product is called "Silipads". Silipads are little knee protectors with a silicone center that help guard their little knees from crawling & falling that occurs as our little ones gain their mobility and independence.

We got the fabulous opportunity to review a pair of Silipads for Mason. The first thing I noticed is that they are stretchy and have a lot of give, so I won't worry about them cutting off his leg circulation as he wears them during the day while he's crawling around. Secondly, he seemed to have better traction on his knees than without, because the silicone helps grab the floor as he moves. Which makes him a better crawler right away. Thirdly, he seemed a lot happier wearing them. Of course, it might have just been mommy with a camera, so he was full of smiles, but he really didn't mind it all at. He hasn't grabbed at them or pulled on them since we put them on and he gets plenty of floor time to try them out.

The verdict, every parent who has a child that is crawling or nearing that stage needs to buy a pair of Silipads right now. Maybe you should even buy two so when one pair gets dirty you can alternate. This is going to save your little one's knees from getting sore and irritated from crawling around all day. They are worth it...trust me! Please visit their website at http://www.silikids.com/ and check out their assortment of colors and also their other amazing & innovative products.

Thanks Silikids for letting us learn more about your company and for Mason's new Silipads. He loves them and so do I!

CaitiMac Creations ~Product Review and Giveaway~

I can't count the endless times I have picked a sippy cup off the floor at a restaurant cause it's been dropped on accident or thrown on purpose. LOL!! It grosses me out because I am a true believer that those germs belong on the ground and not on my child's sippy cup. Parents are always thinking up ways of eliminating these situations and I am so glad. Even though we are at the end of the sippy cup era (with Mason), products that eliminate problems like these are definitely ones I love to spread the word about to others who can still use them for their children.http://www.caitimaccreations.com/

CaitiMac Creations offers something I have never seen before. It's called "The Clingy Cord". Basically, it's a long fabric covered elastic invention that hooks to a stroller, a high chair or just about anywhere, to prevent the "dropsies" of your child's sippy cup or toy. GENIUS, right?

We got the pleasure of reviewing the "Clingy Cord" and since my husband and I had a date night last night, we took the "Clingy Cord" along to test it out. I hooked it on my diaper bag at first, when we were heading out and was put to ease that the cup, even if my diaper bag tipped over, wasn't going anywhere. I have got to say, at dinner, it saved Mason's sippy cup from hitting the floor about 30 times. Isn't that awesome? No exaggeration (it could have been more)! Plus, when he was finished with his sippy cup, I hooked his toy caterpiller through it and guess what...it helped keep it off the floor and the germs (those nasty pests) stayed on the floor where they belong. YAY!! This also kept him nice and quiet cause his toy was always within reach...and he was truly enthralled with the fact that it was hanging on his chair.

CaitiMac Creations is giving away (1) Clingy Cord of your choice to (1) One Bored Mommy viewer. YAY!! What you need to do is head over to their website at : http://www.caitimaccreations.com/ and come back and comment on your favorite. This Giveaway will end on May 1, 2009 and is open to US Residents. Please leave your e-mail info so I can reach you at the close of the giveaway!

CaitiMac Creations is also offering a 10% discount code to our viewers. Just type in boredmoms at check out and receive the discount. They have other great items you must check out too! Plus...some of her "Clingy Cords" are on sale right now. SCORE!! This is definitely an item I would recommend for any first time mommy or any mommy for that matter. This will possibly make your dinner out much more enjoyable and help your baby stay healthier as the germs, that belong on the floor, stay on the floor and not on your child's sippy cup.

My New Favorite Piece of Jewelry...

I am proud to be a mommy of four! In case you didn't know that...I'm going to announce it to all my viewers...because it's probably one of my fondest accomplishments. LOL!! Anyway, I love to tell people about it too, without necessarily announcing it verbally to the world. That's when products like this amazing "Scrabble Tile Necklace" I got from Southern Traditions etsy store comes in handy. LOL!!

http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5138540

She asked me what I wanted on my custom "Scrabble Tile Necklace" and I told her I would love to have all four of the kids names and possibly their birthstones. I expected to like what she made...but I TRULY LOVE IT!

She hit the nail on the head when she created my necklace. I love the colors she used (I can wear it with lots of things), I love the font of their names, I love everything about it. I wore it proudly all day yesterday after it arrived in the mail and realized that Mason loves to tug on it...so I will be wearing it on occasions when he doesn't have that opportunity...so it doesn't get broken.

This necklace (which by the way is very, very affordable at $13.00 + shipping) would make the perfect Mother's Day gift for the SPECIAL mother or grandmother in your life. Visit her store and hurry before Mother's Day Sneaks up on you...
Thanks Southern Tradition for my new "favorite piece of jewelry!" You made my day!

Two New Cd's you Must Check out...

http://www.sugarmountainpr.com/

Sugar Mountain PR sent the kids and I two new CD's to check out and tell you guys about.

The first one is from a group called ROCKNOCEROS and the title of this new album is "Pink". Totally perfect for my two girls, since every (or almost every) little girl loves the color pink. This CD is fun and entertaining, featuring songs that teach important things...like stopping & looking before crossing the street. Their songs are written to entertain & hold the interest of children and after listening and watching my kids...I think they have succeeded in doing so. LOL!! These songs also discuss good grooming (one song is called, "Cut My Hair") and some are touching, like the song "Always Tell Grandma". I would recommend that you seek out this "PINK" album for your CD collection today! "Pink" became available on April 18th, 2009.

The second one is from a group called Putumayo Kids Presents and it's called "European Playground". This CD takes you on a fun filled musical tour of Europe, without leaving the comfort of your own living room, bedroom or car. LOL! The songs are fun to listen to, muliticultural and feature liners in four different languages (English, Spanish, French & German). If you're a parent like me, you enjoy your children being cultured and exposed to different ethnic traditions and languages. I think it makes a child well rounded and more accepting. Anyway, this is another fabulous CD you need to check out when it's released on May 19.

Thank you Sugar Mountain PR for sending us two more fantastic CD's to add to our growing CD collection.

Baby Things by Jessica ~Product Review and Giveaway~

Soft soled shoes are all the rave right now for little ones! Back before Payton, I don't think they had really become popular, and once they did, she was to big to wear them. I was bummed (cause they are so cute)...but then, along came Mason. Now...here's the thing I've noticed about businesses that make these soft soled shoes, most of them go out of their way to cater to parents of little girls. All the cutesy shoes with flowers and bows. Not necessarily to little boys mommy's, who want to have their boys in stylish and trendy soft soled shoes. Hmmm...then I came upon:
http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5509833&section_id=5356333

Baby Things by Jessica offers an assortment of amazing quality soft soled fabric shoes (custom made for size) for both boys and girls. Each pair of shoes has an adorable name too. Not only are they versitile, they are made to last a lot of wear and tear. The thing I liked most about her etsy store? She has a great, fabulous, large assortment of ADORABLE boys soft soled shoes. These were not made out of the left over fabrics that didn't sell at the fabric store, they are made out of trendy & hip fabric (masuline and rugged).
I LOVE THEM!!
We got the blessing of doing a product review of a pair of these boys shoes. We received the "Danny" shoes. They were packaged up so cute. Very professional and all ready for gift giving! They have stripes of aqua blue, dark blue, yellow and light green. The soles are a faux brown suede. Can I just say...they are sewn immaculately and you can tell she takes pride in her workmanship. Mason loved his new shoes and so did I. These will work great for his Spring Time wardrobe.

Baby Things by Jessica is offering a pair of soft soled shoes to (1) fortunate One Bored Mommy viewer. To enter, please visit her etsy store at : http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5509833&section_id=5356333 and tell me what your favorite pair is, by name please. This giveaway will end on April 30, 2009 and is open to US Residents. If you don't leave your contact info, you will be disqualified. One entry per person. Please note, the prize will be mailed out 7-14 days after the winner's pick and size info are received. These are custom made to size and fabric.

Thank you Baby Things by Jessica for letting us review the "Danny" shoes and learning more about your fabulous soft soled shoe boutique.

Flawless Fingers & Air-Porter Feature

I am delighted when I come across companies that feature products that are innovative and new, yet at the same time help me with everyday things. Like painting fingernails and hauling luggage and stuff around.created two products that do just that.
http://www.flawlessfingers.com/
Check it out! This innovative product helps you to apply nailpolish with ease, having almost perfectly painted nails everytime you paint them. The cap and guide attach to your normal nail polish bottle and the guide prevents the nail polish from coming in contact with anything but your fingernail. Isn't that awesome? LOVE IT!! Did I spark your curiosity about how it works? Head to their website at http://www.flawlessfingers.com/ and see the video example.
http://www.air-porter.com/
This is one I definitely need with four kids and lots of things when we travel. The Air-Porter™ is a carefully engineered strapping system that attaches to your existing suitcase. It assists a person in carrying bulky and heavy items from the parking garage through the airport to check-in and then to security. It's light weight, handy, portable and affordable. Wouldn't that help save your back, prevent stress and keep your hands free for holding the hand of something far more precious to you...your child.

I would recommend you check out both of these great products and purchase them today. Both will help make your life a little easier, a little tidier and a little less labor & stress intensive (phyically and mentally). Thanks Indication Designs for creating such amazing products.

Thumb People ~ Product Review ~

We are trying the best we can to instill in our children the fact that, even in this tough day and age, they are SOMEBODY in this world to my husband and me. Despite their size, their age, their color, their circumstances, etc. they are important to us and to GOD and we will always love them exactly how they are. THEY MATTER to us, NO MATTER WHAT! Because this is one of our goals as a parents, businesses like:http://www.thumbpeople.com/
help us in achieving what we started out to do, in raising our kids.

Meet Thumbuddy. Yes...he's a special little guy, because he = you, your child, anybody for that matter. As you read along in the stories about him/her, you can replace Thumbuddy with that person and it really does make a child feel good (even an adult for that matter). Thumbuddy is special, regardless of his circumstances because he is a miracle, a gift given to his mommy and daddy and this world to treasure & love.

Quoting from the book I'll Always Love My Thumbuddy:

We (the kids and I) got the pleasure of reviewing two of their fantastic books and one of their CD's. I adore the books. ABSOLUTELY ADORE THEM! They are amazingly written, they hold a child's interest and have such a wonderful message. We read the books through twice, once with "Thumbuddy" as the main character and then once with "Payton" as the main character. She ATE IT UP! Since she's only three...I think that reading these books can really make an impression on the person she will become someday! It's nice to know that I can be giving her some reinforcement and encouragement in believing in herself and loving who she is as a person.

Thumb People offer several amazing and uplifting books for parents to interact and read with their children. Their business is one of encouragement and hope. Offering children the opportunity to realize that no matter what, they are special because they are SOMEBODY "fearfully and wonderfully made"!

I would really recommend you check out this company and I encourage you to purchase a few books for your children or grandchildren. It really might make a difference in how they see themselves, how they grow up feeling about who they are, etc. Self esteem and self image are important things to keep in check and to feel good about and I really believe this company understands that and that is why they created THUMBUDDY!

Thank you so much Thumb People for introducing us to THUMBUDDY and giving our family a few uplifting books to read with our kids. All four of them will enjoy hearing just how special they are to us and GOD too.

An Earth Day Review and Giveaway

I am re-introducing an etsy store, because I LOVE Southern Traditions Products. She uses extreme detail & care when she makes her items (both of mine have been personalized) and I have been 100% satisfied. Her prices are AWESOME and very, very reasonable and you'll love everything you receive from her. http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5138540

Anyway, in honor of Earth Day, Southern Traditions is sponsoring a giveaway of one of their "green" items. One Lucky One Bored Mommy viewer will have the opportunity to win a "It's a Wrap" reusable sandwich and snack bags.
These are great for helping conserve the waste of plastic baggies that comes from school lunches, out & about snacks, etc. This is an easy way to do your part to help keep the EARTH clean. These fabric covered baggies can be used over and over again. They are made with washable/wipeable nylon (no poly). They come in an assortment of fabrics and are great for kids and adults.

If you are interested in winning the "It's a Wrap" reusable sandwich and snack bag, please head over to the Southern Traditions etsy store at : http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5138540&section_id=5838335 and look around. You might even see the tile necklace she just made me, with my four kids names and birthstones on it in her store. Hunk-Ta-Bunk-Ta ~ Product Review~

I love to see my kids smile. Nothing warms a mother's heart more. Even better than that...I love to hear my kids giggle and laugh and have a great time. I think I have said this before, but I will say it again...I LOVE MUSIC. I think because I like music so much, my kids have started to aquire a passion for it too. We especially like music we can have fun to:http://www.hunktabunkta.com/htbt-where.html

Let me first say...this lady is GENIUS and an extremely talented musician. Her music is upbeat, fun and energetic & at the same time involves the child's imagination and body to the rhythm.
We had the priveledge of reviewing a few (four) of her amazing CD's. We got Funsies volume 1, Funsies 2, Hunk-Ta-Bunk-Ta Boo! and Hunk-Ta-Bunk-Ta Boo 2.

Here are some things I really like about her CD's. The song lyrics are included in the CD, so you can follow along and sing with the CD even before you have it memorized (from repetition...kids like to listen to things they like over and over again). Her music moves your whole body, your mind and your voice. LOVE ALL THREE! Some of her songs are re-made/updated versions of songs I remember singing when I was little...which is fun for me. My kids giggled and giggled and giggled...even from the very first song I played. They especially liked the TICKLEBUG song on the Funsies 2 CD. Even the baby (who is only 7 months) was laughing and playing along. These are CD's you can play at home, in the car or anywhere you are.

She has an amazing website with lots of great info, you can print the song lyrics, you can see where & when she's touring, you can get sneak peeks of her songs and more.

Please check it out: http://www.hunktabunkta.com/htbt-where.html

Her CD's are sold online in several places, including Amazon.com and itunes.com, so hurry up and buy some. You will be excited you did...and your kids will too!

Thank you Katherine for letting us review your Hunk-Ta-Bunk-Ta Cd's. Are you coing to Connecticut for a concert anytime soon? I am certain that my kids would love to see you live!
