Our kids love books! They love hearing stories that make them feel good, make them feel loved, & help them relate to the characters in the books. I also like books that teach the kids good things, help them learn to be good people, etc.

Kids will be Kids and Jennifer Pennifer from the book The Misadventures of Jennifer Pennifer is no exception. This story is about a little 5 1/2 year old girl that's imagination sometimes gets her into sticky situations. I can relate! My kids do it all the time. Sometimes it's hard to not giggle when I find them in certain predicaments, because you know that it's just a healthy curiosity that sometimes gets the in trouble. Truthfully, I could probably write a couple books about our little family experiences too. LOL!


We got the pleasure of reviewing The Misadventures of Jennifer Pennifer book. This will be the first of many books, based off of true life experiences from the author and her little girl (back when she was little). The story is lighthearted, detailed enough (but not so much that it's overwhelming to a 3 year old) and cute. It tells about a little 5 1/2 year olds day and some of the things she does...one of which causes her a little misadventure. LOL! My girls giggled as I read them the story and probably could relate to similar (but not exact) situations that they have been involved in. Like I said before...kids will be kids.

The bows themselves were made out of wonderful quality grossgrain ribbon and some had little crystals added for extra flair. The thing that amazed me the most about these clips...they were alligator style clips that were covered in a material that made them 100% slip proof. Even in Brooklyn's hair (that is really long), they stayed put exactly where I put them. Even when she moved around...they never slipped out. NICE!

Mosquitos love me! They love my kid's skin too! I'm not sure if our skin has some sort of sweet scent that attracts them to us or what, but it never fails...we always come in from being outside with several mosquito bites during the spring/summer months. They matched my search perfectly! Not only do they offer sunscreen & insect repellant that is deet free, it's also paba and paraben free. NICE! We got the pleasure of reviewing the Kidsport SPF 30 sunscreen. It has a pleasant sunscreen smell (nothing overpowering or horrible) and rubs into their skin and doesn't leave much of a sticky residue like some sunscreens do. It is very water/sweat resistant and I am confident it's going to keep my kids from getting an awful sunburn this summer.

We also got to review the Kids Herbal Armor Insect Repellant. It has a citrus smell to it and sprays on to make application easy. If it keeps the bugs from biting the kids...it's worth every cent.

NYC got invaded by the Hutson Family...and it was a breastfeeding extravaganza...

On Saturday, our family & a couple out of town friends, took the train to NYC (for our first trip to the BIG APPLE). We went into Grand Central Station, went to the Empire State Building, walked down Time Square (which was my favorite part), went to FAO Schwarz toy store and even Central Park. It was an amazingly long day with five kids in tow (our friend's daughter who is six was with us too), but we all survived and managed to thoroughly enjoyed the sites and sounds of NYC to the fullest.

This is Mason and I waiting for the train to pick us up (I carried him all day in the Parents of Invention Mai Tei carrier and it worked great)... This is our family in Time Square ...
Breastfeeding Mason as everyone enjoyed hot dogs from a NYC hotdog vendor (who also tried to pull a quick change artist move and was caught red handed)... This is me, breastfeeding Mason on the steps of Carnegie Hall...LOL!And here is Mason and I in front of the FAO Schwarz store...(four stories of toys...toys...toys...) Our kids were in heaven and I even got to play on the "BIG" piano. So much fun!

I am so excited to go back to NYC on June 11th for a http://www.chicmommagazine.com/ event at the Sephoria store. That's going to be so much fun.
