I think that we are all prone to cancer of some sort, in this day & age. Some of which we can avoid, some we can't avoid. The cancer we can avoid needs to be taken more seriously! Especially with our children and their skin. I lather my kids up good with sunscreen when they play outside in the HOT summer sun. Why? I am not only afraid of them getting sunburned, but I also do not want them subjecting their skin to the harmful UV rays that the sun can direct on their soft skin...and cause them problems when they are older.Thankfully, companies like Sun Protection Zone take the sun's rays seriously too. They offer products like SunSkinz for kids, which give them protection from the sun, as well as a trendy water play outfit. All of my kids got to help me review their SunSkinz line (sent to us free of charge for this review) and we were all very excited and impressed! Not only did the kids think that the shirts felt great on, I was happy to know that they were protecting my kid's sensitive skin from the sun's harmful rays. The three older kids got to review the SunSkinz Short Sleeved Shirts. I paired them with bottoms from other swimsuits and it worked perfectly! In fact, our youngest daughter wore her one piece swimsuit underneath it and it worked fine as well! Our little guy reviewed their SunSkinz Long Sleeve Suit. THIS IS ADORABLE! He looked like he was ready to "Hang Ten" and catch some waves body boarding or surfing in San Diego. SO CUTE! Plus, I love that his whole body is covered and that the suit has a snap crotch, so making swim diaper changes will be a cinch! I was very impressed with that! I think that these SunSkinz products are FABULOUS! We give them a One Bored Mommy 100% approval! We would definitely recommend them to our readers as a product that we feel would help protect their children's skin from the sun's UV and UFP rays.

I have four very impressionable kids in my house. Of course, a couple of them are to young to know that yet, but a couple of them are becoming of age where things they see on t.v. really has an impact on how they think. Because of that, I really like seeing movies that keep it clean and actually shine a little light on the REAL WORLD. So I have to applaud The Disney Channel for doing it right with the "STARSTRUCK" movie. We DVR'd it and I was watching it with my kids this morning! I love how they shine true light on the fact that YOUNG HOLLYWOOD stars are "real" people. They want privacy, they want to have a personal life that is not constantly exploited constantly and they want to be WHO THEY "REALLY" ARE. I think it's hard, because we admire their ability to portray a person on t.v. and idolize them to an extent where they become "UNREAL". Where we constantly think we need our noses in what is going on with them, in their personal life, because they are held to a higher level in our minds.
When in reality, they are people (some of them are young people), who have chosen a career path that puts them in the lime lite. They serve our need to be entertained and yet, at the same time, offer us the chance to dream about things that might not be possible in real life.
I love how the Disney Channel showed this young man's true desire to be who is really is and in the end...let him follow his HEART instead of the influence that his power or money could push him towards. He looked beyond the fact that the media might try to destroy a good thing and took a chance...and it turned out alright. He even stood up to his parents and put them in their place, when the fame and fortune of their son had gone to their heads.
So I have to say, "THANK YOU" to the Disney Channel for doing things right with this "STARSTRUCK" movie. The actors did a great job, but the writers of the story did an even better job in presenting a little bit of a reality in a sweet "teeny bopper" love story. I appreciate you offering my kids some wholesome entertainment and helping them see a glimpse of reality through a really cute story!
I was not paid to feature this review! I was encouraged by the movie and thought I'd share!
It's your Pantenologist Courtney, here with more great information about Pantene's New Product Line. The last product we will highlight is their Curly Hair Products. But how do you know if you have the right type of "CURLY" hair?
Thanks to my Panteneology Kit, I was able to do a quick test to see if my hair fell into this category. This test was simple! I took a strand of my hair, wet it and let it dry, then layed it on the page below. If it curled onto any of the lines, I would be the perfect candidate for their Curly Hair line. Since my hair did exactly that, my Pantenology kit recommended I purchase this line for my hair care needs.
I match the CURLY HAIR Pantene Pr0-V product the best! I was truly surprised by these results! I would have thought I would have been a better fitting candidate for the Color Hair products or the Fine Hair Products even...but thanks to my fun experiment kit, I feel confident I have found the perfect match for my hair care needs. This is the product I will be buying for me & my girl's hair (as we have similiar hair types).

So, as I am finding, some of my readers would like me to post some more, "more personal" posts on this blogspot about myself & family. That way you can get to know your "One Bored Mommy". I agree, I think it would benefit you guys to know where I am coming from a lot of days...since I am a wacky mommy of four kids who tells & recommends to you products we love and think you should buy!
Anyway, I have a silly confession to make: I LOVE THIS SHOW!
Maybe it's because I can relate to her sometimes (I really can), or maybe it's because I see her being the more "outgoing and outspoken" me that I don't dare to be. I don't know, but I will admit that I will be flipping through the channels (when I actually watch t.v.) and will stop if I see that this show is on. Why? Cause I know that for the next 30 minutes, I am going to giggle hysterically at some of the things she says, does or some of the ways she acts . My husband thinks it's funny! He cracks up when he's flipping channels and I ask him to stop so I can watch her show. I love that, regardless of the fact the camera is on her (or maybe because the camera is on her), she is REAL!
She really burps, really lounges in her pajamas and really enjoys being who she is...in her own skin. I guess I like "REAL PEOPLE" who like being who they are! Her husband seems like a really sweet guy and they now have a gorgeous baby. I just think it works for them and I like it! Maybe in my youger days (when I lived in San Diego and was footloose and fancy free)...I can picture us hanging out and having a blast together!
Did I agree with her lifestyle at the Playboy Mansion? It's not for me to judge (though I wouldn't have chosen that path to go down personally)! But I must admit that I find myself praying for her and her husband to make it in their marriage. HOLLYWOOD marriages are so delicate and seem to fall apart so easily. Especially those that do "reality" t.v. I like them together. They seem to fit like Peanut Butter and Jelly and I hope (especially for baby Hank's sake) they make it together forever.
Regardless...there is a little bit of insight into my humor. LOL! If you have never watched it, I recommend you at least watch one episode (I've attached a couple clips for you to check out) and see what you think for yourself. I'd love to hear your comments and I hope this won't change your opinion about your "One Bored Mommy" mommy!
P.S. I am so jealous of their new house! WOW! To live in a place like that must be amazing!
"God's Has Big Plans For Me"!This shirt speaks a truth that we can all agree with! Isn't it funny, how a friendly reminder, like seeing it on a tee shirt of a toddler can make you smile and realize how true it really is? I LOVE IT! Such a simple, but effective way to witness to people without saying a word!Faith Baby let us do a review of a onesie when our little guy was about 6 months old. Do you remember? His darling onesie said, "Mommy's Answered Prayers". Since he's a toddler now, he's moved up in their product line size and now wears their "Toddler Tees". I'm so glad that he does! They have so many adorable ones to choose from, picking a shirt to do this review with was hard...but I fell in love with this tee (that was sent to us free of charge from Faith Baby for this review)! I think we can all use simple reminders like this, even as adults. But it's even more important to let our little ones know that we know GOD has a lot in store for them with their sweet lives!
Faith Baby is so sure that you will, they are offering (1) Lucky reader the chance to win their favorite toddler tee. Can you picture one of your favorite "little people" wearing one of these adorable "friendly reminders"?

It's your Pantenologist Courtney, here with more great information about Pantene's New Product Line. The next product we will highlight, is their Color Hair Products. But how do you know if you have the right type of Color Treated hair for this product?
Thanks to my Panteneology Kit, I was able to do a quick test to see if my hair fell into this category. They included a clear cup. Inside, I filled it up with water and took one of my hairs, rolled it into a ball and dropped it in the water. If it sank right away, I am perfect for this product line. But if it floated and stayed on top of the water than 60 seconds, I am not the right candidate for the Color Hair line. Because my hair stayed afloat, my Pantenology kit recommended I continue searching out a better fitting product for my hair needs.
Since I have color treated hair, I thought for sure this would be the perfect match for me. I was wrong! I guess my hair is not in that bad of shape considering the coloring I've had done. So I guess I will have to continue my search for the perfect Pantene Pr0-V product. My search will go on...but not to worry! By the end of the week, I will find my perfect NEW Pantene product line for my hair needs.

The very last of our four kids has started the invigorating phase of events called "POTTY TRAINING". This is the final time I have to go through this challenging time and I am so glad! Potty training is not my forte, but it has to be done...right? I mean, they have to learn at some point to go to the bathroom somewhere other than their pants, right? The answer is YES!So yesterday I bought pull-ups and put the little guy in nothing but the pull-up to run around in. Every five minutes or so, we would rush to the toilet (as he lead the way) to stand there and wait to see if anything would come out.
As of yet, we've been doing it again today! We have had 1 successful #2 and a lot of wet floors and pull-ups. I know this is just the beginning and he has to figure out how this all works.
With my oldest son (when he was two), I bribed him with a puppy to potty train! He literally potty trained in 1 week flat. NO ACCIDENTS, nothing but pure joy! And yes, we got a puppy to boot!
My second child (the brainiac) potty trained herself (basically) in a few days and was potty trained around 18 months completely.
My third child (the free spirit) was basically potty trained by my (at the time) four year old daughter. She was on top of checking throughout the day, telling me when she thought she had to go and even was known to rush into the bathroom with her and set her up on the toilet by herself. It was nice, a little scary, but it worked out alright and she was successfully potty trained before she was two.
Now...with this little guy...we'll see! He's 20 months old and has been showing signs of readiness for a couple weeks. He pulls on his pants when he's going #1 and hides in another room (if he can get away long enough) for #2's. He likes to flush the toilet, hand people toilet paper when they are finished and even scrub out the toilet. However, the idea of going in the potty (you know the actual act of doing it on the toilet) isn't as much fun to him. LOL!
So today, we've had a tiny bit of success, and some training progress! I can see THE END in sight! I know the road to POTTY TRAINING freedom is a long one, but worth all the work. So please, wish me luck as I end an era of potty training children (in this family at least) and see our family being diaper & pull-up free soon!
P.S. If anyone has any helpful advice about how they potty trained their kids...I'd love to hear it! If it doesn't help me, it might help another mommy out! PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE!
We love to listen to fun music in the car! Since we go on a lot of road trips, music is a huge part of our entertainment as we drive. Because we have four kids, getting music that is fun for adults & kids is important too. You know how annoying some "kids" music can be when it's played over and over again! We received a copy of "Funky Fresh And Sugar Free" from Sugar Free Allstars (sent to us free of charge for this review from Sugar Mountain PR)! It's their newest CD that was made available yesterday (APRIL 27th) from Wiser Music.
So I popped the CD in the car on our way to the bus stop today, to drop off our daughter for kindergarten. We listened through some of the songs and my kids seemed to like their music! My little guy especially did! Watch him get down in his car seat!
Adorable, right? I have to admit, I caught myself dancing around in my seat and singing too (no, there is no footage of that). Especially since one of their songs is a re-make (Beattles Original "Ob-ladi, Obl-la-da") to a song that used to be the beginning of a show I loved when I was younger called "Life Goes On".
