Sometimes Even Mommies Make Mistakes...The "GREAT" Backpack Mixup!

I think I am suffering from a case of the Mondays!  It's either that or the sleep deprivation is catching up with me again.  Regardless, I had a hard time getting going this morning!  In the midst of getting everyone breakfast, making sure the coffee was made, juggling the dog from inside to outside to inside again (yes, seriously), and making sure that my two older kids were dressed, teeth were brushed and jackets were on for them to head to the bus stop...I GOT A LITTLE CONFUSED (and I didn't even realize it)!

I accidentally grabbed the wrong backpack, as I was pushing my two "OLDERS" out the door and put my Afternoon Kindergartner's backpack on my 2nd grader's back.  Funny thing about it...she didn't even notice!  She rushed out the door with her big bro and they were off to school.

About an hour later, my younger daughter comes to me and says, "Mommy...why is Brooklyn's backpack still on the table?"  OH MY GOODNESS!  I couldn't believe it!  In my STUPOR...I had given the wrong backpack to the wrong person.  GREAT!!

I guess it's not a big deal...cause there was no homework last night & they all have the same snack today...but the 2nd grader has since called to ask me to bring her bag to school.  Instead of frantically driving up her bag, my afternoon K daughter can just trade with her when she arrives to school.

Anyway, I just had to share because, "SOMETIMES EVEN MOMMIES MAKE MISTAKES"... (this was the saying from my oral language festival presentation in the 7th grade...that still sticks in my head).  It makes me giggle...but it's so true!  I messed up this morning!  Oops!  I'll have to keep better watch on who's bag I am handing to who in the mornings from now on.  I am sure my 2nd grader will keep me in check!
