Hello 2012 And...WE'RE BACK!

Just for starters... case you were wondering...
Christmas was kind of a blur for our family!  Our morning, Christmas morning...started out at 2am, when our oldest daughter decided it was time to get everyone in the house up to open presents.  Needless to say, we were able to prolong the opening until 6am, only after lots of tears and fussing...and not a lot more sleep!  The anticipation of Christmas was just to much for her!

Once the presents were opened (which of course was a blast), our Birthday Party for Jesus (pancakes with candles) was done and my house was semi (not really) tidied from the OPENING festivities...we loaded the suitcases & pillow pets, the four kids and a lot of excitement in the minivan, headed to OHIO!

Crazy?  Yes!  But we didn't quite make it to Grandma's house on Christmas Night.  Instead, we made a stop for the night...because me & my oldest were ready to puke (car sick)...and we were all pretty exhausted too!  After some rest and breakfast the next morning (my oldest son made his own chocolate chip Belgium waffles), and we headed on the road to Grandma's house!

We spent several days there...playing with the dog, riding horses, getting COW kisses, making BUCKEYE candies, and enjoying every second with Grandma.  Then we headed for a few more days (and our New Year' festivities) at my husband's youngest sister's house.  There, we got to see his dad (who we haven't seen for a few years), enjoyed the time catching up and "RANG IN THE NEW YEAR" with them.

New Year's morning...we were on the road again, back to Connecticut.  In case you're wondering, with four kids in tow, it can be a 12 hour trip (with all the stops).  Thankfully, we made excellent time getting home last night, unloaded the car, got the kids tucked in bed and ordered CHINESE food to be delivered.

This morning, I have literally been running around like a chicken with my head cut off.  Unloading suitcases, doing laundry, putting the Christmas toys & presents away, getting the dog re-adjusted to us being home, etc.  You get the idea!

I haven't forgotten about you guys!  In fact, I am super excited about what's in store for 2012 RIGHT HERE...but I have to take today to get my house settled, the kids backpacks ready for school tomorrow, the laundry cleaned & put away, and catch my breath if I can!

I can't wait to share with you, in more detail, about our trip!
But until then...HAPPY NEW YEAR!
