THE FINAL POST - My Remington iLight Pro Review And Wrap Up!

As you know, I've been (over the past 6 weeks) reviewing the Remington iLight Pro Light Hair Removal System for "The Balancing Act"!
For my third application of the iLight Pro, I turned it ALL THE WAY UP!  Yes, I even smelt that "BURNT HAIR" smell.  I think I took care of the rest of the folicles that were still producing hair!
I am so excited!  6 months of being "HAIR FREE" in my armpits is like a dream come true!  Especially since summer is coming and that's obviously a daily necessity...that I will no longer have to worry about!
I hope this doesn't bother anyone, but I promised a picture of my have a look!  You can actually see the folicles where there is no hair growing out!  I truly believe I took care of the rest...last night with my final application!  If I missed a few, I take care o them in a few weeks too!

Also a plus, the iLight Pro system & replacement bulbs are now being sold at they aren't that expensive either!  CLICK HERE to buy your replacement bulb!

I WOULD HIGHLY recommend this product ( I personally give it 5 STARS) to anyone who is seeking "at home" hair removal.  Yes, it takes a few applications to really see results...but the results are worth every second it takes to make it happen!  At least in my opinion...this is far more cost effective for our family too!  There is no way I could afford to have hair removal done any other way...

Sweets are a struggle for me...IF THEY ARE IN THE HOUSE, I will find them & eat them!  But I'll admit, I like a treat every now and again and finding that are GUILT FREE for me make it a much more delightful treat when I get to indulge...without it weighing on my conscious or adding pounds to my body!
I am so excited that Weight Watchers has added to their already delightful low calorie, low points ICE CREAM & Frozen Treats varieties!  YUMMY!  Plus, we got to sample four of their new products and I get to share it with you can keep your eyes peeled when you're in the frozen section of the grocery store!  Perhaps you'll want to delight your taste buds guilt free too!
Don't these sound delightful?

I'll admit, the Double Carmel Swirl Ice Cream Cones are my favorite...though all of them are good!  I just have to keep them away from the kids...because they think they taste great too!  These are mommy's ice cold sweet treats!!  ALL OF THEM!  I'm not sharing these babies!
Plus, the best part...they are almost all "SNACK SIZE", which means that it's just enough to satisfy your sweet tooth, but not enough to make you feel guilty about what you're eating!! on the lookout for these new Weight Watchers Ice Cream Treats...and remember who told you about them!!

Did You Know That There Are 366 Days This Year?

Do You Know Why We Have A Leap Year Day In Our Calendar?

That's because it actually takes the Earth a little longer than a year to travel around the Sun — 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 46 seconds, to be exact.

How Do Leap Year Babies Celebrate Their Birthday?

Most people born on Leap Year, have to wait every four years to "officially" observe their birthdays, but typically choose either February 28 or March 1 to celebrate in years that aren't leap years.

Wonder How Many Women Will Be Taking A Knee Today?

As the story goes, the tradition of women romantically pursuing men in leap years began in 5th century Ireland, when St. Bridget complained to St. Patrick about the fair sex having to wait for men to propose. Patrick finally relented and set February 29 aside as the day set aside allowing women the right to ask for a man's hand in marriage.

Today also marks Rare Disease Day!

Feb. 29 also marks Rare Disease Day, an international event designed to raise awareness of uncommon diseases and health conditions

Oh...To See Things From The Eyes Of A Three Year Old!! You've Got To Read This!!

Today, our two boys (10 and 3) had dental appointments!  They always get excited and seem to have a great time at the dentist office (which is totally opposite of their mommy...who is terrified).

So (to set the stage), we are sitting in the office waiting for the 10 year old to finish up, so the 3 year old can go back.  Out comes our dentist (leaving for the day) who proceeds to stop and say "HI" and "BYE" to us.  It was a quick encounter, but enough of one for our little guy to make a profound observation!

A few minutes later, he asks me if he can change into his pajama bottoms...just out of the clear blue sky!

WHAT??  Are You Kidding Me?
A side note, our 3 year old loves his pajamas.  He is known to change into his pajamas at any given moment of the day...just because!  He tells me they are comfy, warm and soft!  He cracks me up!

I was honestly a little taken back by him asking for them at the dentist office!  What in the world would prompt that?  I mean...he has never been allowed to wear his pajamas out of the him suggesting this was sort of intriguing to me.  Something sparked it...but I just couldn't put a finger on it.

Finally, this evening we were talking to his daddy about his appointment, he proceeded to tell his dad that his dentist wears PAJAMAS to work.  HUH?  Then I got it. (The Light Bulb Moment...DING!)  When he saw our dentist leaving today, he noticed his scrubs and assumed...because they look similar to pajamas...that, that was what they were!  No wonder he wanted to change into his pajamas.  He felt super comfortable in that office, especially after seeing that our dentist wears pajamas to work too!

Our little guy is too funny!  And I am glad I solved the mystery of why he asked to change...and how adorable & innocent his reasoning was behind it, right?  LOVE HIM!

Does your dentist wear his pajamas to work too?

Have You Ever Thought About JUST HOW BIG "GOD" Really Is? Hear Me Out...

We watched this video the other night at my Women's Home Group (We are doing the Crazy Love Book study by Frances Chan)!
Seriously...have you ever stopped to just be in awe of just "HOW BIG" GOD really is?

Maybe you don't believe in GOD...

Maybe you don't believe that there is an ULTIMATE creator who made each and every one of us to have unique features, unique DNA, unique presonalities, etc.
BUT LOOK AT THAT VIDEO...seriously, take a moment and just pause.
Think about truly insignificant we could be to GOD...but we aren't!  HE LOVES US!  He loves us so much HE let his only son die in our cover all of our sins!

I STAND IN AWE...what about you?

Checking MALE Fertility From The Comfort Of Home? YES YOU CAN! Plus A #GIVEAWAY!

In our family...fertility wasn't an issue...when it came to having babies!  I have thanked GOD repeatidly for that, because I know how blessed we are!  It seems that fertility issues are becoming more and more common (or maybe I am just more aware of them) in our age category!  It really breaks my heart for those couples (especially close friends and family) who are really trying hard to get pregnant and it's just NOT HAPPENING!

Now, I have heard of (and actually used) ovulation predictors when we were planning to get pregnant again...but had never heard of a male FERTILITY product that could check sperm home.  But I absolutely love this idea and especially the fact that it's something that can be done privately!

SpermCheck Fertility, the only FDA approved, 98% accurate home test for men, allows men to test their sperm count in the privacy of their home.  SpermCheck Fertility is as accurate as a lab test, but more affordable and convenient!  AWESOME!!

I have the pleasure of offering (1) SpermCheck Fertility Kit to (1) lucky One Bored Mommy Reader!

Best Way To Start Out A Work Week - CONTAGIOUS LAUGH ALERT...Who Knew Doing Sit Ups Was This Funny!

My 6 year old is so funny!
She is quite the personality!

So, yesterday afternoon, I got my older son up and moving (cause he would be seriously living in "DS Land" all weekend long if I didn't) and we were doing jumping jacks, sit ups and push ups.  Anything to get him up, moving and his blood flowing through his body...instead of just through his fingers into his electronic game!
She really wanted to try sit ups (yes, even in her pettiskirt...cause that's just the way she is) and found that they were not as easy as her bubby (big brother) and mommy made them look!  In fact, she thought it was downright hilarious how hard they were to do!  I tried to cheer her on, even showed her where she should be tightening and the more I did...the more she giggled!  I LOVED IT!

In fact, I loved it so much...I had to share it!

If it produces the same reaction in you that it did in will be starting your Monday morning (and work week) out with pure, contagious laughter!

He Can Never Wear It Again...But At Least We Upcycled It To Something We Can Use It For...

My husband is a HUGE Ohio State Fan!  He has lots of Ohio State Tee Shirts...but sometimes they get terribly worn out, stained or ripped.  So what happens to the tees in your house when they get ripped or simply WORN OUT?  Do you throw them out?

I saw a project on Pinterest today that inspired me to UPCYCLE one of his "favorite" Ohio State t-shirts, so it didn't have to be thrown out...and can still be used by our family!
Now, after a few cuts and stitches of the sewing machine, it's an "Upcycled Bag"...perfect for grocery shopping, carrying books or whatever else we might want to use it for.
Because my husband wears an XL shirt...this bag is HUGE inside too!  You can't tell, but inside it (in the picture above) is a 3 pack of paper towels...and there is plenty of room to spare.  LOVE IT!!

You can CLICK HERE to find the link, that will show you the same tutorial I used to make this Upcycled Tee Shirt Bag.

I got an e-mail the other day saying that I had been nominated as one of "America's Hardest Working Women"!  When I read the written nomination...I started to tear up!  I guess, I hadn't realized (although some days I do), just how hard I DO WORK!  I guess that sometimes, being a "Stay At Home Mommy", I don't give myself credit, where credit is deserved!

"Working Out" From Home Just Got A Whole Lot More Fun...With! CHECK IT OUT!

My husband knows it!  I know it!  "Know what?", you're wondering?  This mommy is not a fan of working out!  AT ALL!  Do I know I need to exercise to be healthy and physically toned...of course!  Yet, that doesn't seem to be enough to motivate me to "ACTUALLY" do it!  In fact, we've invested in expensive programs, gym memberships, etc. to get me moving and grooving...but I just can't get into it!  I NEED HELP!

I am hoping that this new online 24 hour a day website, that offers fitness classes of all types (and can even do them LIVE) will give me the extra push to get moving a couple times a week!
Flirty Girl Fitness Live gives you the opportunity to take part in a "LIVE" class, from the comfort of your own home gym or living room (wherever you feel comfortable working out).

The best part about this...I can do the workouts whenever I want to!  I don't have to pack the kids up and head off to the gym, I don't have to other women thinking caty thoughts about me while I workout (yes...we all know that happens in aerobics and zumba classes), it doesn't matter what I'm dressed in or how my hair is fixed and it's, I get to choose what specific classes I want to do!

Want to learn more about Flirty Girl Fitness Live too?
CLICK HERE and check it out.  You can even watch a class or two, to make sure it will be well worth your investment!

I've Created A New Season...It's "PRE SPRING" In Connecticut!

If the weather in Connecticut was, thoughout fail, as mild as it has been this WINTER...I would be okay living here forever!  Very little snow, no SNOW DAYS for the kids and though it's been cold, it has been liveable!

Now, in mid February, the weather is so mild and unusual, the plants are starting to bloom early, the trees are all budded up and my kids are spending more time outside than they ever have in February since we've lived here!  THANK YOU JESUS!  Plus, I can run our dog outside in the morning without freezing my booty off (and yes, sometimes I'm even barefoot)!

I am calling it "PRE-SPRING"!
Seriously...Love it!  I truly think that GOD knew we needed a mild winter this year, after the dramaticly extreme one last year!  I never thought the snow would melt!  Thankfully this year, the snow has melted almost the day after it has dropped to the ground!  SCORE!  I know some are upset that there truly has not been a WINTER...but this mommy is delighted that the weather this year has been as mild as it has been!

So put on your jacket, socks & shoes (cause even though it's's not flip flop weather quite yet) and head out the door for some fresh air.  About this time of year, we could all use a few deep inhales and exhales of fresh clean air...after a couple months cooped up inside!

Are you having "PRE SPRING" where you live?
Did you have an exceptionally mild winter too?

The Pair of Doves, The UPS Man, And The Kids...OH MY! Never A Dull Moment Around Here!

Yesterday, the kids and I noticed a pair of doves, that are apparently nesting in the tree by our front window!  As you remember from last year, we love to find nests with eggs (even though the ones last year never hatched) we were delighted and super excited!
So excited, in fact, that my oldest daughter and I grabbed our cameras and started "taking pictures" of our new friends!  I're totally surprised about that, right?  LOL!
Just a few moments into the excitement...the UPS man came up on the front porch, rang the doorbell, scared the birds, one flew up (out of startleness) and hit the window and then flew off...all the while, scaring the bejeebers out of the poor guy making the delivery.

Immediately, my oldest daughter started bawling (for the remainder of most of the day yesterday) about how the birds were never coming back and how mad & angry she was at the delivery guy for scaring our new friends away.  OH MY GOSH!

As I opened the front door, the poor guy looked traumatized.  Hilarious!  The birds had literally spooked him, as they one flew off and the other banged into the window before making it's way up!  I giggled, signed for the package and shut the door.
After spending most of the day yesterday consoling and assuring my oldest daughter that the doves would return...I was pleasantly surprised and PRAISED THE LORD today to find the pair of doves sitting in our tree again this morning!  GOD IS GOOD!

So now we see if maybe we'll have baby "PEACE" birds hatching this spring, while we watch every second of the action take place!  How fun, right?

AMAZING! They Begged Me To Let Them...Play Outside?

My kids are ready for spring and boy...I am too!  They are ready to spend hour upon hour outside playing, frolicking and just being kids! I seriously think they would be swimming (even though it's freezing outside) if they could!

So this morning, the begging started!  Since it's "Winter Break" and we didn't make a trip to OHIO this year, we really have been just "hanging out" at home.  They wanted to play outside!  At 7:45 am, all four of my little people were whining and crying about wanting to go OUT!  Seriously?  Most of Connecticut was still tucked into their nice warm beds and my kids were begging to go out in the frigid cold to play!  Of course, a part of me was torn...should I let them?  I mean...what's it going to hurt, right?  After checking and seeing that it's actually fairly MILD (by CT standards) outside for a February morning (this winter has honestly been amazing weather wise)...I told them that at 9:30am they could go!  I figured that, at least by them, the sun would be fully up and warming things up even more!

Seriously...I think the counted down every single solitary minute until 9:30 came.  NO JOKE!
Yes, if you can't nerves are getting a little frazzled having them all home this week too...
Now, they are all happily playing outside!  Praise the Lord!  They are happy & satisfied for the moment, the house is quiet, the dog is napping in her crate quietly, the laundry is going, the dishwasher will soon be unloaded & reloaded and mommy is enjoying a few moments to herself!
Again I say, "PRAISE THE LORD!"

COME ON SPRING!!  Get here!  Everyone in this house is ready for the warmth and sunshiny days ahead!

The "BUTT BENCH"...All Women Need This In Their Shower/Tub!

Shaving your legs!
We've talked about it's one of those things that most women dread...
but we all have to do it!
I was contacted by a company that created a product that not only makes shaving legs more convenient, but it makes it a simpler task for those of us who are even pregnant or getting to an OLDER age!  Times when shaving our legs can be an even bigger challenge!
The "Butt Bench" is super easy to install (see picture above), I had it put in in under 2 minutes and it makes an extremely sturdy and function place to sit & shave.  In fact, I will use this at times when I'm not even bathing...because I can sit without getting anything but my legs wet!  It's durable and built to last!  I LOVE IT! makes a great storage space for all the bathroom essentials when you're showering!  That's just me throwing in my own two cents!  Plus, it can hold "up to 300 pounds!  It also comes in several different colors, so it will match your specific bathroom needs!
I would definitely recommend this "Butt Bench" to any woman that shaves her legs!  Pretty sure that covers of most of the US!  You're going to be happy you have this in your bathtub!

Having A Miscarriage...

Miscarriages are not something that women proudly talk about or even something that some women discuss!  Why?  It hurts!  I really does!!

I am speaking from personal experience when I say that, loosing a baby is loosing a baby!  IT HURTS! Not sure why the timing, but I feel like I need to share my personal story with you guys!

My story:
We were already blessed with three beautiful and amazing kids!  But I felt, in my heart, that having a fourth would "EVEN OUT" the numbers in our home and ease some of the pressure our 3rd child was feeling by her brother and sister.  Plus, I just love having babies!  I've told you before that I believe they are addicting!  We even went "car hunting and shopping" because having a fourth child change the size of the car we needed to have (the 4Runner just wouldn't cut it)!

Excitedly, we had a confirmed 4th pregnancy!  I was delighted and shouted it (literally) from the rooftops.  At this point in life and our experience with pregnancies, I wasn't even the slightest bit worried that this pregnancy wouldn't work out.  Our family knew about it!  Our friends knew about it!  We were overjoyed with this fourth child!

At about 6 weeks, I started bleeding.  This was extremely abnormal, considering that with my first three pregnancies, I never bled at all.  I went to ER that night, just to check things out and the fluttering little heartbeat was still there and in tact.  Phew...relieved, I went home, still bleeding, but hopeful because we were still pregnant.

The next day, I made a trip to the bathroom and found that not only was I even more heavily bleeding, but a big clot like form (but it was clear) had come out as well.  Immediately, I panicked and called my husband to come home from work to take me to the hospital.  I managed to (as gross as it sounds) retrieve the discarded matter out of the toilet and put it in a baggie.  I had not idea what it was, but wanted to make sure we took it along so the doctor's had everything they needed to evaluate me.

Being in ER that day, was one of the hardest, saddest and darkest moments of my life.  Laying there waiting!  I had to deal with a very impatient & "NOT NICE" nurse (and trust me...I am a very easy going patient...even through childbirth).  Waiting to go back for an ultrasound.   WAITING...and even more WAITING!

Sure enough, the news came...there was no longer a sac or baby there.  I had miscarried!

Now, being a Christian mommy, I know (in my heart of hearts) that GOD does everything for a reason!  He had HIS hand in my situation that day and knew exactly why that baby was to be with him instead of introduced to us on earth.  Did that make it easier?  A little!  Just knowing that GOD's control and decisions may not be something my human heart could understand or comprehend...but it was for the best of all involved!  It truly was...for whatever reason!

Breaking the news to everyone we had already announced our pregnancy to was really hard for me!  Thankfully, we have some very supportive friends and family who surrounded us with loving support!

I mourned for the baby!  I still wonder, some days whether it was a boy or girl.  I know...someday I will get to finally meet that little sweetie and we will have reunion in HEAVEN.  I can't wait to!  Even our kids talk about it...and I am just so thankful that because of their childlike faith...understanding that GOD knew best is simple and easy for them!  They speculate what it was and talk about meeting it someday too!

We tried again a few months after to have another baby and got pregnant with our little guy!  WHAT A BLESSING!!

I guess I am writing this to share and also to "in a written way" hug all of those mommies out there that have gone through similar experiences.  Some have gone through one and some have gone through many...and my heart is broken for those mommies and I mourn with them.
Loosing a baby, is NEVER EASY!

Thanks for letting me share...
