I am, what I would consider, a very active mom! Does that mean I work out consistently? No...but there is very rarely a time when I am docile or resting. I am almost always on the move, unless I am sleeping! But I have honestly never tracked just how many steps I do take a day.
Have you ever figured out how many steps you take a day?
Have you ever heard of Move100.org? It's a website set up to challenge and motivate EVERYONE to get up and be active for 100 minutes a day. Thanks to their tools to track...getting those 100 minutes a day is easier than most people think!
Yesterday, I clipped this Sportline 330DS Step Pedometer on my pants and got to my normal everyday business around the house.
I was shocked to see...at the end of the day (8:00 pm) what it read! YES...it says 15,348!
I had looked up on the internet yesterday the following info:
2) 5,000-7,499 steps/day is typical of daily activity excluding sports/exercise and might be considered "low active."
3) 7,500-9,999 likely includes some exercise or walking (and/or a job that requires more walking) and might be considered "somewhat active."
Which shows that I am considered "HIGHLY ACTIVE"!
I have to agree!!
The best part about this pedometer arriving...our oldest daughter insisted on wearing this to school today, because she wants to know how many steps she takes a day. To me, being competitive about things like healthy activity is a GOOD THING! So...she wore it and I can't wait to read the digital numbers when we take it off her tonight. SO MUCH FUN!
