TODAY Is Women's Health & Fitness Day - Healthy Tips For All Ages!

Today, September 26th, thousands of women across the nation will come together to learn how to take control and make smarter steps towards healthier living. Women's Health & Fitness day was started to promote the importance of regular physical activity and health awareness by hosting local health-focused events for as many as 100,000 women. To help women of all ages get healthy and active, Dr. Ross Walker, author of 5 Stages of Health, offers the following tips:

Here's some great ways for you to join them!

Decades up to age 30: From 18 to 30, your muscles and joints, along with your vascular system, are at their best - take this time to start and maintain a lifelong exercise routine. Take a few different classes, whether it's Zumba or Yoga, to get an idea of what type of workout you would like to use to get in shape.

Age 30 to 40: Addictions, such as drinking and smoking, are bad for you at any age but as you get older they can have lasting effects on your health. Use this decade to quit those bad habits; make your decision to quit public, telling friends and family that you fully intend to stop will create the support system you need.

Age 40 to 50: In your 20s and 30s, eating a carton of ice cream at night seemed to have little effect on your figure, but once you hit your 40s that will start to change. This decade is where women begin to see the buildup of fat, so start a healthy diet now. To lose weight you will want to take in fewer calories than you burn off and once you feel you dropped those extra pounds try to maintain it - if you stop, the weight will begin to pour back on.

Age 50 to 60: Every visit to your doctor is the perfect opportunity for health screenings but this decade will be the most important when trying to pass those tests. Between your 50s and 60s, common diseases such as cancers and cardiovascular problems begin to manifest - make sure to get appropriate tests at annual checkups or when needed. You can also take daily steps towards preventing illnesses by taking dietary supplements, such as BergaMet Mega, which help to promote cardiovascular health and maintain healthy cholesterol levels.

Age 60 and onwards: This time is when you should be taking active steps to keep your mind sharp and prevent yourself from slowing down, not just physically but mentally too. Try taking up a form of meditation, whether it's through yoga or sitting in silence for 30 minutes a day - this will help you gather your thoughts and relieve your body and mind from stress that can affect your healthy way of life.

Protect Your Family From 99.9% of AIRBORNE GERMS!!

Do you ever catch yourself, when you're on an airplane, a subway, a community bus or even doctor's office...noticing people around you coughing, sneezing and blowing their nose?  Do you ever think to yourself, "oh great...I'm going to get sick!"

I will admit that I have done that a time or two, but even more so worry about my kids...as they head off to school with hundreds of other kids who could be ill.  As we know, kids are GERM carriers... and they don't always consistently wash their hands, they sometimes have no personal "BOUNDS" and will touch or invade your space.  GERMS can pass quickly, especially in the school environment!
I was excited to receive samples of Halo's products!
Our oldest son, who is pretty critical about the taste of medicine (was my taste tester), really enjoyed the taste of the "Children's formula" and I felt good about the fact that he was protected for up to 6 hours after taking it.  With just three easy sprays in the mouth (35 doses per bottle), it is proven to kill airborne germs you breathe in.  How awesome is that?
How does it work?

This is definitely something I will take on our next airplane ride (because it's only 1 oz, it adheres to the TSA regulations for carry-on luggage or purse), to give the kids before we get on the plane, and possibly even our next movie theater visit.  It protects against 99.9% of infectious germs!

I don't honestly believe I will be spraying the kids down DAILY (for school), because I do believe that being exposed to some germs helps keep our immune system strong.  But for times when we are taking trips and I want to make 100% sure that we all stay healthy...this is AWESOME to have with us to protect us!

Sometimes I Just Have To "SHAKE MY HEAD"...

Today, as you know, is my 34th birthday!  Isn't it funny how birthday's are just "DIFFERENT" as you get older!  They are still a celebration (of sorts), but not quite in the same way they were when you are little.

This morning started out early (as usual ), came downstairs to get three kids ready for school, one child ready to run errands with me, and one puppy ready to head to the vet for his "DE-MANNING" surgery.  Got everyone loaded in the van, dropped off the three kids at school, prevented the puppy from escaping as they got out, and headed to the vet.

That's when things got interesting.  At the signal, I turned around to see TROOPER dropping a HUGE LOAD in the very back of the mini van.  It was all over his leash and he proceeded to run through it as he hopped onto the seat, as we started moving again.  Immediately, the smell overwhelmed me and the little guy.  It was a total gag fest, which turned into a puke fest for my poor four year old.

FABULOUS!  GREAT!! Not!

We arrived at the vet with all the windows rolled down and I wiped Trooper's leash off enough to get him into the vet.  I borrowed some spray, some paper towels and de-pooped & de-puked the mini van, so we could drive without puking anymore and get the rest of our errands ran this morning.

Strapped the little guy back in the car, headed to the Dollar Tree and bought my little guy a birthday balloon (I promised him I would buy him a balloon for my birthday), so he could help me celebrate my birthday!  He was happy as a clam and after seeing his smile, it instantly brought some sunshine back into my morning too.

Got home and finished off the early morning with a phone call from my sister...who burst out in tears, mid conversation.  Our parents dog (who she has been watching for the past couple weeks while they are visiting my Grandma in MO) passed away last night in her arms.  She apologized for crying about it on my birthday...but I just had to laugh (cause I was tearing up too)!

Oh well...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

So thankful to have another year full of MOMMY comedy and smiles from my kids!
Hope your day is full of SUNSHINE and RAINBOWS today too!

Blowing Out 34 Candles Today...

34 years ago...I came into this world!

I was a tiny little thing (still am, in a way)...but GOD had big plans for me!

I would have never guessed it would involve being a mommy of four amazing kids or being able to share myself & God's word with thousands of people everyday!

I am so thankful for my life!
I am so thankful that GOD saw the potential in me to call me HIS!

So, help me blow out my candles (because I might need help...34 is a lot to blow out in one breath) & celebrate another year on this earth!

I'm As Bad As The Kids...

I can't help it...I get excited when Friday arrives!

Why?

Not only because we have two days, that I don't have to get up early (though that is typical regardless), fight to get three others up (when they don't want to), pack lunches, get people's hair fixed in a hurry, feed breakfast in an organized manner and then load up the mini van to drive them off & drop them off at school...

Not only because I don't have to watch the clock in the afternoon, to make sure that I leave the house at the right time to avoid the HUGE traffic jam that occurs at the school, to pick up my three school goer's up...

BUT MAINLY because it means that, for the next two days, we are HOMEWORK FREE!

Seriously, having three kids in school (only to be four next year), I feel like I am currently going through 1st grade, 3rd grade and 5th grade...all over again.  I'm helping with math, I'm helping with science, I'm helping with language arts, I'm giving three spelling tests on Thursday night (for their tests on Friday), etc.  You get the idea!  This idea of being "HOMEWORK FREE" for two days delights me, almost as much as it delights the kids...who are already burnt out from it...only a short few weeks into the school year.

YIKES!!

So TGIF - Thank Goodness It's Friday!
Enjoy your homework free weekend at your house too!

"Pop! the Pig" And "Doggy Doo" = GIGGLES And FUN!

I love playing games with my kids!
Especially ones that will bring a giggle to our afternoon!
They were beyond excited when two new games from Goliath Games, arrived at our front door for us to review...and enjoy for years to come!
Pop! the Pig is an action game that involves colors, numbers and seeing just how much you can fit into that cute little PIG'S BELLY before he bursts his belt open with a POP!  This game will have your kids sitting on the edge of their seats, as they take turns rolling the die, feeding the pig, pushing his head, watching his tummy grow and then...waiting for the FINAL POP!  The one who makes the pig's belt POP open wins the game!  MY KIDS love this game!  I do too!  It's not messy, simple to play, offers us a lot of giggles, and should be one that lasts for a long time & a lot more laughs ahead!
Doggy Doo is HILARIOUS!  Seriously...my kids couldn't wait to get into this game!  The idea?  You feed the dog, roll the die, push his leash (which causes the dog to make some interesting gas sounds, as the food moves through it's body) and finally ends with the DOO coming out of the dog!  The idea of the game?  The person who is able to "SCOOP & KEEP" 3 piles of "doo" wins the game!  HILARIOUS!!  This game is not messy either (the dough is easy to clean up after) and HOLY MOLY...will your kids giggle and laugh at this one!  The sounds in itself are enough to keep one excited!  I would have never guessed that a game about "picking up the doo" after a dog goes...would be fun...but they truly love it!

Just So You Know, There Can Never Be...

a More Beautiful You!

GOD MADE You as a ONE OF A KIND Creation!

This song "NAILS" it...in my opinion, so I have to share with you:
In a world that is so critical about how people look, dress, what size they are, how their hair is styled, what type of shoes they wear, etc., some of us are in DESPERATE need to hear these exact words!

GOD thinks you're beautiful...NO MATTER WHAT!
Remember that!

I Can't Help It...This Bothers Me! Anyone else?

When HIS NAME is printed on our country's currency:
When the mention HIM, is in the Pledge of Allegiance:
When HIS WAYS have been a fundamental truth that the country has based it's most major guidelines and documents on:

In the Constitution:
"Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven"

Then why is it okay to start making HIM obsolete?  Why is it okay to push HIM away?
Why is okay to take GOD out of the picture?

And then you wonder why this nation is falling apart!  If we remove GOD from our country...He'll remove His blessings from our nation!  He has every right to!  But man, I hate to see what kind of "EYE OPENERS" might happen before people start realizing the gravity and the truth in this!  I mean, the reality is...HE doesn't need us to pay attention, HE will get our attention!  But WHY is HE being eliminated from our daily speech, our schools, and even our homes?  How can we expect our country to remain protected and blessed, when we are eliminating the one MAIN THING that can do that for us?

Think about it GUYS!  Even if you're not a believer...you have to admit that the country is getting worse and worse, the more that GOD is taken out of the picture!
Wouldn't this cause your mind to wonder why?

Do you think that, maybe because GOD was so involved in the beginning...that's why we are able to call our Country "The Land Of The Free and The Home Of The Brave?" We have so many freedoms and rights, as US citizens that people in other countries can only dream of having...yet, we are hoping to eliminate the one that (in my opinion) that has given us our freedom to begin with.

I pray that people in power, will WAKE UP, so that our kids will have the opportunity to continue living in a country that is safe, free and founded with focus on GOD!

Thanks for letting me share my two cents, for what it's worth!
