We Wish You A Merry Christmas...And Don't Forget THE FREE GIFT!!

Today we get to celebrate the most IMPORTANT, monumental, profound, and miraculous birthday's of all times!
(at least in my opinion it is)
The one that, because HE was born, changes lives for the better...even today!

And no...we are not talking about Santa Claus!  Because even he bows down to worship this special baby boy...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sweet BABY JESUS!!

I hope that today, each of you will spend some time reading the story of HIS birth in your bible & celebrating the true reason we celebrate Christmas!  Trust me, your kids will be interested in this amazing story too!

This baby was the best present anyone can receive and it's FREE too!

Luke 2:9-12 -  And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. And the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. "And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths, and lying in a manger."
And by the way...the kids and I wish you a very
MERRY "CHRIST"MAS!

Sandy Hook Elementary - 1 Year Later

I remember the day, as we watched the news and learned the fatal details of the horrific shooting that took place at the Sandy Hook Elementary School.  I remember being so anxious that day (I couldn't pick them up soon enough) to pick the kids up from school that day, to hug them tightly and praise the LORD for the protection over them that day (and everyday)!

Oddly enough, we (our own little family) had (just a few months prior) just moved from Trumbull, CT (only a couple towns away from this town and school) and we had a first grade daughter!  I could truly sympathize with those parents who lost their precious babies that day!  Sweet six year old's just like our spunky daughter!  So full of life, of energy and so pure & innocent!  My heart broke into a million pieces, relating to how those parents...who were preparing in their own homes for Christmas, didn't have their precious babies to celebrate with on Christmas morning or any other morning after!
Oh how my heart is still grieving for them!
So many innocent lives lost...

It's been a year already (WOW), and I am certain that it's not any easier for those parents to prepare for Christmas this year...or the families who lost "BRAVE" teachers and faculty who tried their hardest to protect those innocent lives!

May the LORD bring peace into each life and into that community in Connecticut!
May they feel HIS protection and LOVE...especially today!
We will never forget!

Happy Thanksgiving - Give Thanks!

I cannot believe that 2013 is almost over!

How are you guys?  It's been forever since I've posted on here and I've been missing you guys!

For those of you who still actively check in here...THANK YOU!
For those of you who have prayed for our family this year...THANK YOU!
For those of you who will continue praying for us...THANK YOU!
As we prepare to spend this day "GIVING THANKS"...I am reminded that it's not suppose to be just a ONE DAY OF A YEAR thing!  Being thankful that is!  We should be thankful everyday for everything we have!  We are blessed to wake up each & every morning, see our children smile and grow, have a roof over our heads and food in our bellies, and friends & family who (regardless of any of life's circumstances) who remain loving and supportive through all our ups and downs.
If nothing else, this past year has taught me to be TRULY THANKFUL for many things I may have overlooked in years past!
These four faces (see above), definitely make me THANKFUL on a daily basis too!
I know their lives are just being "LOANED" to me...but I am beyond thankful to be called MOMMY!
But truly, thankful doesn't even scrape the surface, about how I feel about them...
May you and yours have an amazing THANKSGIVING!
Enjoy the time with family & friends... fellow-shipping, enjoying in all of the good eats, loving on each other, and most of all...realizing just how truly blessed we all are!

GOD BLESS YOU on this Thanksgiving!

Oh How I Hate GOODBYES!! *Sniff* *Sniff*

Hi guys!

Courtney, One Bored Mommy here...

I started this blog in 2009, after a cross country move from California to Connecticut!  I had some major cabin fever, was feeling lonely (and depressed) and needed some way to use some of my talents (and past PR experience) to help spread the word about some great products that families may or may not hear about on their own!

I've truly loved every second of it!  The picture taking (I've taken some awesome pictures), the product reviews (oh my...the fun things we've reviewed), the writings (me, sharing with you, my feelings), the publishing (yes, I've even been quoted in magazines), the networking, the television appearances (you guys know I loved that) and the compliments on a job well done!  I've worked with some awesome PR companies, some wonderful  companies directly and some amazing "start up" & "Mommy Owned" businesses too!  It has been an amazing 4 1/2 years!  So many things our family & friends would have never been able to do, see or experience had this blog never existed!

SO VERY BLESSED!
(And GOD gets all the credit for that!)

However, since last year, when our family moved back to California, and we began to process through some major life changes...priorities have changed a lot!  I am about to enter the work field again!  No longer a Stay At Home Mommy of four!  I'll now be a Single WORKING Mommy of four!  I will simply not be able to give this site (or the companies I love working with) enough time and dedication to continue doing the QUALITY product reviews I've been able to give in the past!  Plus, it's simply not fair to my kids, when I am not at home with them...so every second will be THEIR TIME completely!

Therefore, I am so sad to have to say goodbye (*sniff *sniff), and I will be finishing out the final product reviews, as they arrive on my front porch, but One Bored Mommy is going to be signing off for now!

It's time to focus on my new career!
WHATEVER THAT MAY BE!!  Anyone hiring?
Time to give EVERY SECOND of my time to my kids that I can!
Time to start a new chapter of One Bored Mommy's life, which obviously won't be boring EVER AGAIN (not that it ever really was)!

THANK YOU for always encouraging me!
Always supporting me!
Please be excited for me!
My readers are the best...and I mean that!  Especially if you've been here from the START!!
I LOVE YOU GUYS!
Thank you for letting me be "Your One Bored Mommy"!

Younique Moodstruck 3D Lashes...These Are AMAZING! YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS! #sponsored

My eyes are something that I think people find attractive on me!  I was blessed to have full, dark eyelashes.  They may not be naturally long, but with a simple application of mascara (or four), I can have lashes that look like falsies!
(This product was sent free of charge for this review/feature on behalf of their personal business and I was not paid to offer my honest opinion about this product!
I am always excited to learn about products that can make my LASHES pop even more than normal!
I was delighted to receive one of Younique's products - the Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes!
The application is simple and easy!
In fact, I received them last night and was so excited, I tried only one eye (see picture above).
So today, I decided to do a VLOG, so you can see how easy the application process is!  Not my most flattering video blog, but I've never put makeup on in front of my webcam before, so I think I did okay! For the price of this product, you will fall in love too!  This make your lashes look amazing and the products are long lasting and these are waterproof, yet wash off with water and facial cleaner!  Seriously, I am loving this product for my eyelashes!  I may never go back to normal mascara again!
Here's a picture of my finished lashes, after the application of the Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes on both eyes!  LOVE IT!!  My lashes look amazingly long and full, right?

Love Your Zelf - "THE ZELFS" Share Their Positive Powers With My Girls... #sponsored

I love products that bring positive thoughts into our home!
Even more, I love products that bring positive play and can also boost self esteem!  It's silly to think that a little toy could do that for a child, but it really can!
(This product was sent free of charge by this company for this review/feature and I was not paid to offer my honest opinion about this product!)
"The ZELFS" Pega Sue arrived at our house today and my oldest daughter was immediately attracted to her!

She has fun hair, her power is "SERIOUS SMARTS" (which is perfect for my daughter's own personality) and she couldn't wait to get her free of the packaging and style her hair & play with her.
Here's the commerical:
My daughter loves her new Pega Sue Zelf and she has already picked out her next choice, "Miss Clover"...who of course, is the ULTRA RARE Zelf!
Gotta love a challenge, right?

A Fun Way To Teach Your Kids To Brush - @FireFlyTB "Ready, Go, Brush"

Teaching your kids to brush their teeth, and to do it the right way, can sometimes be a challenge! With four kids, I've tried the best I can, to encourage them to brush twice a day (at least) and to do it RIGHT!  I would have to say, my oldest son and youngest daughter are probably the MASTERS of "shorting" their brushing...just because they like to rush!
(I was sent these products free of charge on behalf of the company for this review/feature and I was not paid to give my honest opinion about these products!)
But what if there was a fun way, using some of their favorite characters, to encourage your kids to brush for the recommended amount of time, twice a day?
FireFly Toothbrushes and their Fluoride Foam Toothpaste offers your children just the tools they need to get those teeth pearly white everyday!  Plus...it's all in good fun!
These products are (ADA) American Dental Association Accepted!
The toothpaste is foam that is squirted directly into the mouth.  My little guy loves the taste and texture, the older three, were not huge fans!
Then you push the button and press for 1 minute of fun flashing, teeth brushing fun!
TOP ROW!
Then, you push the button a second time, for 1 more minute of fun flashing, teeth brushing fun!
Bottom Row!
I love this idea, because there are many times, I am not able to stand in the bathroom and make sure they are brushing for the right amount of time, every time!  This is a great way for them to be accountable to themselves!  Plus, the toothbrushes have some of my children's favorite characters, which makes them even more fun to brush with!

CLICK HERE to learn more about these FireFly Ready Go Brush Toothbrushes and Foam Toothpaste! Your kids will have fun brushing and you'll feel good about them doing it right...the first time!

Forgot Sunscreen? Got A Bad BURN? Use SUNBURNT and First Degree Products And Get Relief!

Sunburns are bad!  Not only are they bad for your skin...and your long term health of your skin, but also because they HURT bad too!  I am a bit neurotic about putting sunscreen on my kids, especially until they have established a decent base tan, in an effort to avoid any issues with sunburning during the hot summer months!  If I can avoid my kids getting a sunburn, I'm going to do everything I can!
(These products were sent on behalf of this company, free of charge, for this review/feature and I was not paid to offer my honest opinion about these products!)
However, it's easy to forget to apply sunscreen before heading out to an event you may not even think about needing sunscreen for.  Or forgetting to re-apply after the allotted time in the sun!

How do you get SUNBURN relief?
I just received some products from SUNBURNT & First Degree, that I am so glad that I will have on hand in case we get a really bad sunburn at our house!

Why?

Their products are Homeopathic, so I feel comfortable using them even on my children's sensitive skin!
The SunBurnt After Sun Gel is nice to use, even if you haven't gotten a BURN, to soothe and hydrate your skin after being in the sun for an extended amount of time!  If I was a lifeguard, I'd take stock in this product!  It helps ease temporary symptoms of sunburn, such as burning, redness, stinging, rawness, itching and dryness!
Recommended for ages 2 years and up.
The "First Degree" Burn Cream is another awesome product for us to have on hand...and not just for sunburns (but it will work for that too).  This product will help soothe burns from the stove top (yes, mommy gets those from time to time, especially when frying bacon), curling iron "bumps", and anything else that might cause epidermal burns and scalds  I am so glad I will have this in my medicine cabinet to use in case we have an "accident" of this nature!
Again, this product is recommended for ages 2 and up.

Both of these products are homeopathic options for burns and I am so glad that we have them on hand for these type of NEEDS!

Save $$ And Eat Breakfast At Home! #Giveaway #Myblogspark #Sponsored

Breakfast!  The most important meal of the day...right?
Do you eat breakfast every morning?
Do you pick something up as you're headed to work?
Do you eat something before you leave your house?
(I was sent these products free of charge for this review/feature on behalf of General Mills and Breakfast at Home Makes Cents from MyBlogSpark, and I was not paid to offer my honest opinion about these products!)

Did you know that you could save a lot of money, especially for a family the size of ours, by eating breakfast at home?

In fact, beginning on June 15th, take advantage of great savings in-store and online on some of your family's favorite General Mills breakfast items like Honey Nut Cheerios®, Lucky Charms® and Cinnamon Toast Crunch® cereals!
Simply select the coupons you want and print them directly from your printer. It’s that simple!

Visit Breakfast at Home Makes Cents for details!
We received a gift pack, that included two boxes of General Mills Cereal, a cereal bowl, a "cereal" themed lip gloss and a $25 gift card, so we can buy some breakfast essentials for our home!
I am a firm believer that EATING AT HOME, especially breakfast does make the most CENTS!!  With a family the size of ours, if we were going out for breakfasts, or even through the Starbucks drive through on a daily basis, even just ONE coffee is about $5.  We can get coffee grounds and bring them home and make that coffee for that price...and we'll get several pots too, not just one single serving cup full!

Not to mention, I believe we eat healthier when we eat at home!  Why?  Well, think about it!  If you are getting your family breakfast through a fast food drive thru, those sausage McMuffin's or Hash Browns are loaded with fat and calories!  This is simply NOT HEALTHY or a good start to your day either!  When you can purchase some fresh fruit, some yogurt and include a small bowl of healthy grain cereal, your children's day will be started off, fuel charged for whatever physical activity they are put up against!

Would you be interested in entering this giveaway and winning the same gift pack we received, so you can participate in this Breakfast Makes Cents Challenge?
This winner will receive:
• $25 gift card to use during the event
• One box of Honey Nut Cheerios®
• One box of Lucky Charms®
• Big G Bowl
• Big G lip balm
• Retail Value: $39

Our Day At Aquatica San Diego - Fun In The Sun And The Water!

When it's hot, and today was a HOT ONE...how do you like to spend your summertime fun with your kids?
Perhaps you can spend a day doing something extra special with your kids?
(We were provided 6 complimentary tickets for admittance to the park for this review/feature on behalf of Aquatica of Sea World and I was not paid to offer my honest opinion about our time at the park!)
My kids (aside from one daughter) had personally never gone to a "WATER PARK" before...until today!
After receiving complimentary tickets to visit their new AQUATICA San Diego Sea World Water Park, we drove to Chula Vista, CA today, to check out the park, enjoy some fun in the sunshine and some thrills in the water...LITERALLY!!
Upon entrance into the park, we were immediately met with amenities that made our day at Aquatica a true, "worry free" pleasure for us to experience.  Lockers were available (and conveniently located throughout the park) for storage of our clothing, shoes, wallets, etc.  Life vest racks were also located throughout the park, so that when we felt it necessary, the kids would be able to VEST UP!  Yes...they even have Starbucks coffee available for a PICK ME UP (and after hours at a water park, once can definitely use one) and Water Bottle refill stations for you to easily refill your water bottles and avoid dehydration in the sun and heat!
We also got to see some pretty amazing animals!  Nothing like the zoo...but these flamingos are beautiful and so interesting to watch!  They have amazing balance!  We also enjoyed watching the Freshwater turtles swimming and sunbathing!  It looked like they were enjoying their day too!
Yes, there are shops at Aquatica too!  The kids had fun browsing through the stores and trying on a few "silly things" they found!  No...we didn't buy any souvenirs this time, but we had a great time looking!
But the best part about our time at the park was definitely spending time in the water on all their fun slides, rides and attractions!  SERIOUSLY...there wasn't a dull moment!  Yes, the water was cold and the breeze was too (at times), but it didn't stop us from having some serious fun!  I got some decent pictures on a few of the rides, but because we were having so much fun "just enjoying our time", and because I didn't bring a waterproof camera, I hope I can do justice to some of the fun we had!
We arrived at the park at just past "OPENING" (10:00 am) and we left the park at 4:30ish!
We were tired, the kids didn't want to leave, but our day was full of memories we will not soon forget!
If you live in the San Diego area or are looking for a place to visit when you are vacationing in the San Diego area...I would highly recommend the Aquatica San Diego Sea World Water Park!  It was clean, so much fun, and we were so very entertained all day long!
There was never a dull moment in our fun time!

CLICK HERE to learn more about this park and to order tickets for your family to go!

The kids are already begging to go back!  TRUST ME...it was that much fun!
