Today, the kids and I ventured out to PetSmart to see if we could purchase the new inhabitants of our awesome National Geographic 8 1/2 gallon aquarium that we were sent for review/feature
All products were sent free of charge for this review/feature by Petsmart. I was not offered any monetary compensation by offering my honest opinion about these products. I was provided a $25 gift card, to purchase water treatment, fish, etc. to complete our aquarium once it is set up.
We headed to our local PetSmart, which is actually pretty close to our house...and the kids were excited before we even got in the store.
As we headed to the fish department, we asked for some assistance...as mommy is not "well versed" in fish lingo or how to properly care for an aquarium. I'm lucky to honestly keep a Beta Fish (which are nearly impossible to kill) alive. And since we have such a nice set up, I want to make sure that our new additions MAKE IT for longer than a couple days!
We got some help, found out that we have to wait at least 48 hours (after we treat the water) before we can put "friends" in our tank. I have to run the filter too...so that it's acclimated and ready for occupants.
As we checked out the fish selection, we noticed that the guppies were limited to 1 left. Seriously...there was only one in the tank. AMAZING! She assured me that they would be getting a new shipment this week and by Saturday, they would have some ready to purchase and our tank will be ready then too. That works for me.
We were talked into purchasing a "moss ball" for the tank...that is alive and will grow while it's living in our tank. Our oldest son thought that this was pretty gosh darn cool. And yes, we all had to feel and touch it, before it got placed in the tank.
So our moss ball has found it's place, the water has been treated, the filter is running and we are patiently waiting for this weekend, when we can go buy some fish for our National Geographic Aquarium.
