Picture Perfect Reads From Harper Collins

The school year is pushing on...and our children are daily encouraged by their teachers to read, build their vocabulary and work on their fluency.
Sometimes...children simply don't want to read...unless it's something of interest to them.
Something that they think is funny, entertaining or even silly.

That's why I love Harper Collins selection of books.  There is no shortage of awesome "reading material" for my kids to enjoy!  Most of it is something that they are excited to read, excited to learn about and even excited to participate in, as they read the stories.
We received a bundle of books from Harper Collins that blew me away, and gave the kids & I a good giggle and laugh as we read through them.
Blown Away by Rob Biddulph is an adorable story about a penguin that takes flight with his kite.  Through is adventures, he learns that home is where his igloo is.  This book has adorable illustrations and a story that held our attention the entire read through.  SUPER CUTE!
Who Wants a Hug by Jeff Mack is a story all about hugs!  I mean, everyone likes hugs, right?  I know i do!  Bear especially loves to give hug but Skunk wants none of it.  He annoys skunk with his constant offers to hug him.  Everytime skunk tries to do something mean, it results in Bear offering him another hug.  This story shows friendship, persistence and the power of a hug.  LOVE IT!
Flat Stanley and the Very Big Cookie by Jeff Brown and illustrations by Macky Pamintuan is a yummy adventure with one of our favorite characters.  Flat Stanley loves to help Mr. Pete the Baker make cookies...and when competition steams up, he helps Mr. Pete come up with a brilliant idea to save his bakery.  This book will have your kids on the edge of their seat, as they wonder if they can help save the day!
Splat the Cat and the Hotshot by Rob Scotton is a wonderful beginning reader book.  Your child will learn the "ot" word family, as Splat the Cat earns his stripes in this fun adventurous story.  As he competes with the newest member of the Cat Scouts, Splat the Cat realizes that everyone has special qualities that make they wonderful...even if they aren't all created equally.  Our youngest loved helping me read thru this story.
Charlie the Ranch Dog: Stuck in the Mud by Ree Drummond and illustrated by Diane deGroat is another fun story about Charlie the Ranch Dog.  When Abigail the calf gets stuck in the mud, Charlie moves into action, until he himself gets stuck too.  Your child will be wondering Charlie will be able to get himself and Abigail out of this sticky situation!
And finally...Pete the Cat: CaveCat Pete by James Dean is another fun story with Pete.  Pete lives among the dinosaurs and is friends with everyone.  But that doesn't mean that everyone is friends with everyone too.  Pete gets to help the dinosaurs learn to get along!  Best of all this book comes with an entire sheet of stickers, which made my kids super happy too!
